I made custom furniture for 35 years and I never turned-down a challenge. As a result, I learned a wide variety of skills but never scratched the itch of pure creation. My recent work not only scratches that itch, but advances the state of the art as well.
Some of these pieces use techniques that are of my own invention, without which they were not previously possible. Hard edges blending into feathering radii are explored in mobius-like forms.
The search for apparent fragility combined with unexpected strength is a worthy goal.
The challenge of absolute symmetry in the familiar yet new form of the chair helps me find my God.
